Blowers
Spencer single stage scroll blowers, aeration/ventilation blowers and heavy-duty RB pressure blowers are widely used in Original Equipment Manufacturing applications and in processes that require uniform airflow over an entire volume range. Typical uses are aeration, combustion air delivery, ventilation, materials handling, air curtains and drying. Maximum airflow volume is 50,000 ICFM, maximum pressure 3.5 PSIG.

There are three designs of Spencer multistage fabricated machines: standard overhung (SOH), four-bearing overhung (4BOH) and four-bearing outboard (4BOB). Sheet steel construction is standard for blower housings, but other metals can be selected for specialized resistance in cases involving extremely high temperatures, chemicals or corrosive conditions. With housing diameters from 14" to 88", these blowers can handle volume to 25,000 ICFM, pressure to 20 PSIG and vacuum to 15" Hg.

For very difficult gas handling jobs, Spencer offers high-performance blowers and gas boosters with special designs and constructions using a variety of high-performance metals such as Hastelloy®, stainless steel and titanium. Typical gases handled include corrosive and toxic sulfides, halogens, acids, flue and stack gases, cyanides and ammonia. Maximum parameters include temperatures to 1100°F, housing design pressures to 1000 PSIG, operating pressures to 300 PSIG.

Spencer has a variety of choices to deal with unusual applications. They include special materials, coatings and corrosion allowances for corrosive gases; effective sealing techniques or hermetic, leaktight configuration for hazardous gases; alternative drivers such as gas turbines instead of electric motors; belt drives for blower operation at a specific speed; various drive arrangements and couplings; and accessories from acoustical wraps to vibration isolating pads.

In addition to major components of cast iron, Power Mizer blowers have cast aluminum impellers with three-dimensional blades that transfer energy to the airstream with very high efficiency. In continuous-duty industrial processes and wastewater aeration applications, they offer energy savings of thousands of dollars per blower per year. Performance specifications include pressure to 20 PSIG, vacuum to 15" Hg, volume to 40,000 ICFM.
Vortex single stage regenerative (side channel) blowers are compact units that are well-suited for in-plant use and for air handling in OEM equipment. They deliver clean, oil-free air without pulsations. Many options are available: TEFC or explosion-proof motors; one-phase or three-phase power; 50 or 60 Hz operation. Maximum performance characteristics: 600 ICFM volume, 3.6 PSIG pressure and 7.6" Hg vacuum.
