Central Vacuum Systems
Spencer central vacuum systems are custom – designed for each facility with a centrally located vacuum producer and dirt separator or material collector connected to a metallic vacuum tubing network. They extend “vacuum power” throughout operations of any size, providing intense cleaning power and a lot more – fume removal, liquid spill pickup, hazardous and recyclable goods collection, bulk material conveying, vacuum hold-down or pickup, etc.
To ensure that your vacuum system is planned and sized correctly, with all the service features you want, here are some factors to consider. What types of applications do you have? Cleaning only? Any other tasks? What is the maximum number of simultaneoussystem users? For vacuum cleaning, what hose diameter and length will be best, based on your floor plan? (Standard hoses are 1-1/2″ or 2″ diameter and up to 50′ long.…or even longer if needed.)
What will the system be vacuuming up? Explosive dust, toxic powders, bulk materials and liquids all need special provisions for safe, effective vacuum collection and disposal. Will you need special vacuum tools such as gulpers for bulk goods, extensions for cleaning overhead surfaces or vacuum squeegees for liquids? What is the most logical central location for the vacuum producer and separators (to minimize tubing expense and friction loss)?
You don’t have to resolve all these issues before calling Spencer, but your thoughts will lay the groundwork for productive discussions with a trained Spencer representative, who can apply the Spencer Engineering Edge to your needs. You will get the best central vacuum system design including vacuum producer, collectors, filters, electrical controls, tubing and fitting network and sets of cleaning hoses and tools.
Spencer central vacuum system consisting of three Power Mizer vacuum producers connected to three tubular bag separators and three centrifugal separators provide high-velocity dust collecting from hand tools and automatic machinery at a composite manufacturing facility.
Rather than “one size fits all,” Spencer offers many sizes and types in both vacuum producers and separators. Vacuum producers may be single stage or multistage centrifugals, regenerative types, coupling drive or belt drive, with power input up to 1250 HP. There are dry and liquid separators; several filtration types with manual or automated cleaning; preseparators; and specials such as Bag In/Bag Out separators for toxic materials.
Large Spencer system has 27 standard overhung vacuum producers connected to a bank of five centrifugal separators and six tubular bag separators to serve an electronics manufacturing cleanroom facility.
